Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr says the list of players called up for preparations ahead of the World Cup 2018 Qualifiers against Cameroon will be released today.
Rohr disclosed the information in Kano, shortly after CHAN Eagles booked their ticket at next year’s Africa Nations Championship with a 2-0 win over Benin Republic.
The Franco-German tactician revealed that the list of invited players have been submitted to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) who are expected to officially announce it today.
He confirmed he has called up some players for the first time when he was asked if there are new players in the list of players for the back to back games against Cameroon.
Meanwhile, Hapoel Be’er Sheva forward Anthony Nwakaeme is among the new names to be listed for the September back to back World Cup qualifiers clash against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.
Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo has been placed on standby by the Super Eagles coach who will only include the 23 year old if he finds a club and gain match fitness before the game.
Omeruo has not played in any high profile game since returning back to Chelsea from his loan spell with Turkish side Alanyaspor. He is presently training with the U-18’s of the English Champions as he is not in the first team plans of coach Antonio Conte.
Also expected to make the list of invited players includes the duo of CD Feirense of Portugal goalkeeper, Dele Alampasu and his teammate Oghenekaro Etebo,.
